The third batch of Master of Science and first batch of PhD students of the Pan African University, Institute for Basic Sciences, Technology and Innovation (PAUSTI) will be held on Friday, 29th June, 2018 at 8.00 a.m. at the Graduation Square, Main Campus, Juja; together with 31st Graduation Ceremony (Award of diplomas) of the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology. As a reminder, the Pan African University has five campuses distributed all over the continent. Apart from Nairobi, Kenya the other campuses are located in Tlemcen – Algeria, Yaounde – Cameroon, Ibadan – Nigeria and South Africa.

What: Graduation ceremony of the third batch of the Pan African Institute for Science Technology and Innovation for the Academic 2017/2018. The graduands will be awarded together with the host University, the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology.

    By Decision Assembly/AU/Dec.675 (XXX) on the election of the President and VicePresident of the Pan-African University Council (PAU), AU Heads of State and Government elected Mr.Nzinzi Pierra Dominique (Gabon) as President of PAU Council for a three-year mandate. The newly elected President of PAU Council shall participate in the upcoming PAUSTI graduation ceremony scheduled on 29 June 2018, where he will deliver a speech. This will be his first official activity as the President PAU Council.

Why: After completion of Master’s and PhD programmes at PAUSTI a graduation ceremony is organized for successful students. The upcoming graduation ceremony shall include both Master’s and PhD students. Statistics are as follows: Master’s programmes registered 33 graduands including 26 male and 7 female students, while PhD programmes registered 14 graduands out of which there are 10 male and 4 female students. Graduands are from 21 nationalities including: Uganda, Kenya, Cameroon, Chad, Ethiopia, Liberia, Mali, Rwanda, Tanzania, Burundi, Erythrea, Nigeria, Burkina Faso, the Gambia, South Sudan, Benin, Sudan, Zimbabwe, Ghana, Egypt and Senegal.
